Out of Control

Driving on the wrong side of two-way traffic,

The narrow roads of the medieval German village speed towards me,

Brakes do not seem to function,

I cannot bring my speed down,

Not because of any malfunction of engineering,

But of tiredness, exhaustion and a recklessness which cannot be halted.

Only by a change in pace,

Of the mind,

And then the soul.
