The community of believers was of one heart and mind,
and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own,
but they had everything in common. Acts 4:32-37
To truly share is hard to do,
We can share out of our excess, and not feel a thing,
We can share feelings, when we have enough empathy, time or patience,
Oscillating between need and a motivated Pharisee,
Looking out of the corner of one eye for affirmation.
The true share is love.
The sort we cannot get from the grab-bag of how I feel today,
Not made of inconsistent stuff, but an ever-present willingness to be present to those who need it.
Not representing God, but letting Him do so for us, without interference.
That is community. Which is love itself.
