To learn is to recognize something,

Perhaps right from wrong,

A theory,

The willingness to change,

A movement from one place to another,

Understanding of why or where I am.

 

Real learning is not becoming a parrot,

Reciting facts from today’s scientific latest,

But rather understanding,

Ownership,

A spiritual knowledge,

Not bereft of feelings, but embracing them,

Part of me. Truly.

 

In doing so we have to embrace the darkness, as well as the light.
