Faltering Steps

Faltering steps with bare feet,

Slip from one moss covered rock, to another.

Each move wobbly, tentative and unsure.

Until finally I falter, falling deep into the river,

submerged surrounded by His love,

an inner resurrection raising me to the surface.

I only see sky and feel water of everlasting life,

touching all body, soul searing upwards,

delighting in the sun and light radiating into me.

Like a log fire on a cold winter night,

I AM warm, secure, in His nature’s hands

Drifting down towards an eternal sea of love.

Found

It is not lost, but was never seen or felt before.

A gift unknown,

A prize unclaimed,

Love unfound.

Suddenly revealed and all is won.

“Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.”

Gospel of Luke

Infatuation

Peace is a river washing over me on a warm summer’s day,

Sensual and soul filled, it cools and soothes me,

cleansing mind and body of all that is not God,

until I am joyous with torso bursting Spirit.

Like teenage infatuation, I lie clear; bathed in love; resting in Him.

“let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one Body.”

Colossians
