My mind as a child,
Is filled with love and a desire to please,
my parents and those who teach me,
seeking love above all else.
As it secures forever.
“The city shall be filled with boys and girls playing in its streets.”
Book of Zachariah

For all my Finery
For all my finery,
And beautiful wives,
and lovely children, and exclusive memberships,
my family and
God is all that is of import.
“There was a rich man who dressed in purple garments and fine linen and dined sumptuously each day.”
Gospel of Luke
Outside the Garden
The purity of a daughter, faultless and unaware.
Unfathomable issue from Eve herself,
playing in a garden filled with only love and joy,
unconcerned with any distraction or burden.
Will grow into woman. Where new beauty and the world outside the garden awaits.
Eternal Kindling
Can fire be separated from its source?
Does energy released and absorbed just fade away,
or remain an eternal memory,
longer than the flame, or the heat, or the warmth of the log that bore it.
Leaving a timeless kindling lit in my soul. The recollection that warms forever.
“Go up into the hill country; bring timber, and build the house”
1 Haggai
Delight
Love is My Luggage
Travel with love packed so completely,
It falls out of your luggage,
onto others paths,
causing instant smiles and love like summer rain.
Leave all else without meaning, fully behind you.
“Take nothing for the journey”
Gospel of Luke
We can do little in the world without joy.
Even tough tasks have a reward in their ending,
but we cannot sustain anything for long without joy.
It is our means of coping, loving, giving, sharing.
It is life itself.
“let these men be repaid for their expenses, in full and without delay.”
Book of Ezra
Secretly I think those thoughts,
Arriving on trains laden with baggage,
from years gone by or stations ahead,
too many directions and not enough tracks.
Some lead to a country called Peace.
“nothing secret that will not be known and come to light”
Gospel of Luke
Oh Prudence, I think I knew you before I understood you.
Like knowledge unknown, I practiced your art,
At times well, others badly,
not knowing that it wasn’t a game of good or bad.
But how my life is lived.
“the master commended that dishonest steward for acting prudently.”
Gospel of Luke
